The Pacman frog is one of the most attractive species of frogs on the planet hands down. Pac-Man Frogs get their name from their nearly abnormally round body, huge mouth, and their habit of eating anything that moves in front of it. Their mouths are as wide as their body and they will usually try to eat animals bigger than they are with it. There are a total of eight known species under the umbrella term “Pac-Man Frog” that all have the same largemouth and body shape.
Like most frogs, the Pac-Man Frog needs freshwater for reproduction as well as for a water source. However, these frogs are not very good swimmers and once they leave their birthing pond, they will simply return to the water to lay their eggs. Like all frogs, they start their lives as tadpoles in a regional water source and grow into their mature state. They are ready to quit their watering hole and start eating bigger food when they are the length of a quarter.
Pac-man frogs are one the only frogs who have teeth. These teeth and bony lumps on their jaw are used to “lock in” targets in their big mouth, similar to bars on a jail cell. They’re also fully capable of pulling blood, so be sure to use caution when handling!
Even though they have teeth and a strong bite force, they don’t chew their food and opt to destroy it whole. Pac-Man Frogs have been known to accidentally suffocate themselves by trying to destroy something bigger than themselves.
Another one of the most interesting facts about Pacman Frogs is that they have a long lifespan. With the right care and engagement, this is a pet that will be with you about the same time as a dog. Maintaining the temperature, humidity, and food consistent and fruitful will assure your frog will live a long and happy life.
Like most frogs, the Pac-Man Frog doesn’t sleep with its eyes closed. They do have eyelids and will sleep with them closed to preserve moisture, but otherwise, they prefer to keep their eyes open and on the lookout.
WHAT DO PAC-MAN FROGS EAT?
Pacman Frogs are carnivores with intense hunger and will eat nearly anything that comes within a small radius of their mouths. This includes crickets, roaches, various worms, grasshoppers, fish & Pacman frog food bites. Provide the food on daily basis to your Pacman frog, as many as it will consume in one meal, and clear any leftover insects from the tank.
MEALWORMS
Mealworm is the larval form of the mealworm beetle, Tenebrio Molitor, a species of darkling beetle. Like all holometabolous insects, they go through four life phases: egg, larva, pupa, and adult. Larvae generally count about 2.5 cm or more, and adults are between 1.25 and 1.8 cm in length.
Mealworms use as pet food for detained reptiles, fish, and birds. They are also used to feed wild birds in bird feeders, especially during the nesting season. Mealworms are valuable for their high protein content.
Mealworms are generally available in bulk and are commonly available in containers with bran or oatmeal for food. Saleable growers include a youngster hormone into the feeding process to keep the mealworm in the larval phase and achieve an abnormal length of 2 cm or greater.
These mealworms are available in two forms for consumption of pets-
1) Live Mealworms:
Live mealworms are the ideal worms as a part diet of your pets as they have moisture, are appealing, easy to feed, among other benefits.
Feeding live mealworms to your pet furnishes excitement and interest at mealtime, creating every bite a fun treat.
Live mealworms should be kept in a tub with good ventilation and a comparative surface area. If you see condensation below the top of the container, ventilation must be grown.
Before feeding the live mealworms to your pets, gut-load them a few days before and when offering them to your pet, dust mealworms with calcium, vitamin D3, and other multivitamins.

Thinking of counting them towards your pet diet by combining them with their everyday food will eventually pay off in the long run.

ARE MEALWORMS GOOD FOR PACMAN FROG?
Mealworms can make a nice addition to the diet of a Pacman frog. Larger ones can’t eat the mealworms solely, but they can be part of the diet. Remember to gut load them before feeding to your frogs.
Everyone knows frogs love insects, so it shouldn’t come as a surprise that Pacman frogs also enjoy the occasional mealworm.

Smaller Pacman frogs should eat mealworms as part of their diet. They can make a nice addition for those who want an occasional treat for their pet and don’t mind conditioning it first! Remember to gut load the insects so they become more nutritious than what you find in store-bought containers.
As adults, they will need more nutrients and protein than mealworms can deliver. Large size Pacman frogs like to eat smaller rodents, fish, and birds. Mealworms can make a good addition to the diet of these frogs, but not as a complete food source!
